Are you Looking for a free Custom Theme?

I've been working with WordPress for a while now. Close to two years if not more.

In that time I've only ever used themes that I myself designed. While I'm no graphical artist, I find that using simple CSS and some creative Photoshop play (I simply couldn't reference GIMP there) has been highly rewarding.

The funny thing about WordPress is that it's actually surprisingly simple to design for. I've not released a full theme yet to the public but it's been something I've had in mind for awhile. So ... I've got a question for anyone interested.

Have you ever wanted to learn theme design for WordPress or are you in the market for a cheap custom theme? I'm thinking about running a series of posts on theme design and I'm just curious who would be interested in it. If you'd be interested in following a project of this nature please let me know. I may take a few extra steps to make it more interesting but I thought I'd just ask up front to guage interest.

    I’ve only just started blogging in the last month or so and am using Everton Blair’s theme, but I would certainly welcome a series of posts covering theme design and editing – currently trying to pick up CSS as I go along.

    Hi,
    Although I have been blogging for 1.5 years, I started using the WordPress 2 months back and I’m really interested in their themes. I too planned to desing a theme, but due to time constraints I could make it. But the plan is not dropped yet.

    I’m really interested in theme design and if you can give me information on this, it would be helpful.

    Hi Bill,

    I’ve got plenty of experience with html and css, but I only tangled with the guts of wordpress when my 2.0 theme and plugins exploded during the upgrade to WordPress 2.1. I for one would love to see some bite size posts to show me how I should have done things if I weren’t in such a rush ;-)

    Hi Bill,

    Certainly would love anything to do with WordPress. My theme was designed by a great company, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt for me to understand more about the process of building a theme. Any insight you could share would be great.

    Bill, I think you and I could work some kind of deal out…I like designing in photoshop, but I don’t have much coding experience. I’ve paid for somewhat decent coding, but I’m having to micromanage it too much. If you’re interested in trying to work something out, let me know.
