Getting Sh-t Done

I'll admit it. It was the title of this particular GTD system that reeled me in.

Getting Sh-t Done is just brilliant.

I mean, at the end of the day its not the easy fast stuff we need to get done. It's the tough stuff that we've been fighting with for one reason or another.

Anyway, while checking out Mike Rohde's Custom Planner Hack I noticed a great idea for a symbol set. What's interesting to me is that I've actually been using a symbol system like this for some time. Mostly, I'd used circles, triangles and arrows to delineate different tasks and values. Mike points to a system by Bill Westerman which takes it a step further. Besides simply using circles and triangles he incorporates check marks to signify an items completion.

Mike's article points to a Flickr set which in turn points to Bill Westerman's site. A little more digging around, not much I assure you, will get you to the Getting Sh-t Done page.

If you're following me on the GTD kick you may want to check out the Getting Sh-t Done method. Trust me, it's worth the read.
